Die Swellendam Erfenisvereniging is trots om die bekendstelling van die vereniging se nuutste publikasie aan te kondig.
"Die Leiwater van Swellendam"
Die boek is 'n omvattende beskrywing oor die geskiedenis van die leivore en hulle aandeel in die groei van die dorp. Eerstens vir die verskaffing van water vir huishoudelike gebruik en tuin besproeiing en dan ook om water vir die maal van koring en maak van bakstene vir bouwerk te verskaf.
Ongelukkig is die leiwaterstelsel is besig om te verdwyn, daarom het die navorsingsspan ook die koördinate van die verskillende leivore in die boek vasgelê, sodat toekomstige belangstellendes die roetes van hierdie leivore sal kan volg.
Die boek bevat ook heelwat kleur fotos en bestaan uit 137 blasye. Daar is ook a los opvoukaart wat gebruik kan word om die leivoor roetes soos in die boek beskryf, te kan volg.

The Swellendam Heritage Association is proud to announce the launch of the association's latest publication.
"Die Leiwater van Swellendam"
The book is a comprehensive description of the history of the irrigation furrows and the part the played in the growth of the town. Initially for the supply of water for domestic use and garden irrigation, then also to supply water for the of grinding wheat and making of bricks for building purposes. Unfortunately, the irrigation system is falling into disuse, thus the research team have recorded the coordinates of the different irrigation furrows in the book, to allow interested parties in the future to be able to follow the routes of these furrows. The book contains many colour photos and consists of 137 pages. There is also a fold-out map that can be used to follow the various irrigation furrow’s routes as described in the book.
