Thank you to everyone who joined us for the recent talk by John Illsley. His presentation on the 1914 Rebellion gave us a clear and engaging look at a key moment in South Africa’s past, when former Boer generals opposed the country’s role in World War I. As John explained, it was possibly the closest South Africa has come to a coup.
We are grateful to John for sharing his knowledge and experience with us. His long career in education and interest in history continue to offer valuable insights.
