Good afternoon admirer of all things heritage.
Your committee wishes you the very best for 2019! We hope you have all recovered from the hectic festive period and have happy memories of that time.

Your association is rearing to go and would like to advise you of our first event planned for 2019 which is not to be missed!
Also at the end of this email are some preliminary details of an outing planned for February.

We have been extremely fortunate to persuade Dr Hans Heese who studied at the University of Stellenbosch (BA, S.T.D., 1966, M.Phil Journalism 2001) and at the University of Cape Town (MA, History, 1974, Ph.D., History, 1976) to come and address our association. Dr Heese is a History Lecturer; Motoring Historian; Social Historian; and importantly a Student of slave and missionary history in South Africa. He is indeed a man with a wealth of historical knowledge and is also the author of a number of historical books and articles.
Dr. Heese will come and talk to us on Thursday evening the 24th of January. His subject is titled Swellendam and Slaves – a very diverse society. This promises to be a most interesting talk on a subject, which to my knowledge, has not ever been touched on before by your association. Thus, please mark this event in your calendar now.
